About Counselling #01

Seeking counselling is often a daunting process. People seek counselling for a variety of issues such as getting divorced or perhaps having lost a loved one. These are specific issues for which Person Centered therapy can be very useful.

However there may be more generalised feelings which bring people looking for some relief from issues such as feeling anxious or depressed and not knowing quite why. I work with people at their pace to discover what this means for them and how they can live more satisfying lives. The most important thing I believe in therapy is the relationship, which should offer a non-judegmental space where you are really listened to within the context of your life and what has brought you to counselling at this point.

Counselling can offer you a chance to explore your issues with the counsellor in an objective and non directive way. Often people find it helpful to talk through their feelings with someone when they aren't really sure what the problem might be. It can address general anxiety and feeling disempowered or out of control in your life.

Often people feel generally unhappy or disatisfied with their lives and aren't quite sure why. Counselling can help make sense of these feelings so that you are able to live your life in the best way for you and feel connected to others again.
